Swedish offshore corporation Hexicon AB, that develops concepts for floating platforms for large-scale, offshore renewable electricity production, has engaged Bo Normark, an electrical engineering expert at Uppsala Innovation Center and former Marketing Director at ABB Grid Systems, as business consultant. Bo Normark will support Hexicon in their business establishment both in Sweden and internationally.
Offshore corporation Hexicon has, in cooperation with Fagerdala Marine Systems, Ocke Mannerfelt Design Team and classification society Germanischer Lloyd, developed and designed a concept for large-scale, offshore, renewable energy production. The concept entails the placement of turbines and other applications for wind and wave power on a floating platform which is equipped with Fagerdala Marine Systems’ protecting and isolating hull system. The platforms’ scale capabilities, sustainability, low costs of maintenance and flexibility with an ability for offshore deployments, results in an offshore sustainable electricity production which can be carried out with previously unattained profitability.
Hexicons’ new business consultant Bo Normark has approximately 35 years experience from the energy sector. During many years he had a leading role in ABB’s global power system business. Bo Normark has also, been responsible for ABB’s strategy development within this field and has thus closely followed the international wind power market in general. At present, Bo Normark is a Business Consultant at Uppsala Innovation Center and CEO of the organization Power Circle AB.
